Passing Marks Details in CSS Examination 2023

The passing marks in the Pakistan CSS examination 2023 are as follows:

For each compulsory paper, a candidate must obtain at least 40% marks to pass the exam. The total marks for compulsory papers are 1200, so a candidate needs to secure a minimum of 480 marks to qualify for the next stage of the exam.

For each optional paper, a candidate must obtain at least 33% marks to pass the exam. The total marks for optional papers are 1200, so a candidate needs to secure a minimum of 396 marks to qualify for the next stage of the exam.

Moreover, candidates who qualify for the written part of the exam are called for an interview, which carries 300 marks. To be considered for appointment, candidates must obtain at least 100 marks in the interview.
